WOMENS DAY CELEBRATIONS 2023

A day for women across the world, beyond the borders of the country. International Women's Day is celebrated every year on March 8. There are a thousand things behind this, starting with the support of the progress made by women to improve their own workplace facilities and living conditions, and the story of the success of women over the dominance of industrial monopolies with sweat and strength. This International Women’s Day, 8 March 2023, is celebrating under the theme DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality. and #embraceEquity

Considering today's scenario , more than gender equality, the correct term to use should be equity. A focus on gender equity needs to be part of every society's DNA. And it's critical to understand the difference between equity and equality. Whereas equality means providing the same to all, equity means recognizing that we do not all start from the same place and must acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances. We can all truly embrace equity.

It's not just something we say. It's not just something we write about.

It's something we need to think about, know, value and embrace.

It's what we believe in, unconditionally. Equity means creating an inclusive world. We can all challenge gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out inclusion.

Collective activism is what drives change. From grassroots action to wide-scale momentum, we can all embrace equity . Equity isn't just a nice-to-have, it's a must-have.

With this we, The Women Development Cell of NSS training College Ottapalam celebrated Women Empowerment Week from March 1 to March 8, Conducting various refreshing and thought provoking programs. From slogan writing to collage making competitions and awareness classes to students. The final day of the celebration week , we celebrated International women's day with a grand inauguration followed by various cultural programs conducted by students. started with prayer followed by the welcome speech by Dr. Seema Menon K P, Women Development Cell staff coordinator.  There was a time when women of our country were treated worse , denying their rights to even express themselves. Decades later, in this 21st century, the scenario is not much different. It's true that today women are in a far better place compared to our ancestors. The wars they fought for a better future surely did not go to vain. But even today the world is hard on women. Physically, mentally and emotionally it's draining her, Suppressing her voice. She is not even safe in her home. So the world needs to know the inequality we are facing And embrace equity.

GOOD TOUCH , BAD TOUCH AND PERSONAL HYGIENE : Awareness Class for School Students

"Good Touch and bad touch" This slogan refers to the teachings that good touches are those that are not abusive , such as hugs from family, a pat on the back, or shaking hands, while bad touches are those that are abusive and involve touching a child's private body parts. It's necessary for the child to differentiate between good and bad touch. Personal hygiene is how you take care of your body. Maintaining hygiene practices reduces the spread of illness and risk of medical conditions caused by not taking care of yourself. It also increases self-confidence and positively impacts personal relationships. The Women Development Cell of NSS Training College Ottapalam , organized An awareness class on " Good touch bad touch and personal hygiene " to students of N.S.S K.P.T Vocational Higher Secondary School.
