A day for women across the world, beyond the borders of the country. International Women's Day is celebrated every year on March 8. There are a thousand things behind this, starting with the support of the progress made by women to improve their own workplace facilities and living conditions, and the story of the success of women over the dominance of industrial monopolies with sweat and strength. This International Women’s Day, 8 March 2023, is celebrating under the theme DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality. and #embraceEquity
Considering today's scenario , more than gender equality, the correct term to use should be equity. A focus on gender equity needs to be part of every society's DNA. And it's critical to understand the difference between equity and equality. Whereas equality means providing the same to all, equity means recognizing that we do not all start from the same place and must acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances. We can all truly embrace equity.
It's not just something we say. It's not just something we write about.
It's something we need to think about, know, value and embrace.
It's what we believe in, unconditionally. Equity means creating an inclusive world. We can all challenge gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out inclusion.
Collective activism is what drives change. From grassroots action to wide-scale momentum, we can all embrace equity . Equity isn't just a nice-to-have, it's a must-have.
